Retro hats are the craze for stylish diva’s
Classic styles and vintage accessories have a tendency to be the craze of the new contemporary fad. Not for the plain dresser, the person donning these previous fashions easily has style and charm. Abundant is one way to describe vintage hats, as there are so many styles available. Classic hats, possibly more than classic clothing, reveal the inspiration of the milliner. The hat is and has always been the final touch to express ones personal style and fashion sense. Without overshadowing ones wardrobe, a bold red hat can be worn to add a whole new look.
It’s not uncommon for hats that were popular decades ago to still be the envy of the chic. A excellent example of this is the decorated wool with its large brim that was very popular in the 1960′s. You will discover this kind of hat in the classic retailers, and also in the local mall.
One astonishing popular hat from the 20′s and 30′s was the feather hat, made entirely of feathers on a wool base. An example of this classic style is a single, but excessive feather, which increased the height to the individual as well as appeal to the outfit. In the accessory marketplace, feathered red hats are still extremely popular and sought after.
It really is fascinating to notice that when the simply feathered hats initially made the fashion market, just the cutting edge, extravagant and stunning fashionist were observed donning this design. By the early 50′s the trend had changed though and many more women began to wear the feathered hat. As with all fashion tendencies, what goes around, comes around, so it’s no surprise that they are hot again with you young and hip.
Another interesting period that introduced many entertaining and intriguing hats was the 70′s. The pill box hat was redesigned during this period into a more exaggerated puffy version. The new pill box was much larger than the moderate original, decorated with paisley arrangements, and metallic thread, which all added to its silliness. These hats that were once popular were outdated by the eighties. Once again though, previous fashion hits become popular, which is now what is happening with the pill box.
Many women love the classic hats and even collect them. Where do you find them? One place that everyone seems to check first is the Internet, and vintage hats are no exception. Additionally, antique clothing stores may also carry this timeless trend accessory as well.
