Prayer is such an important part of our walk with God. We have so much power in our lives, simply by praying to God. When we get down on our knees in faith and talk to God and ask Him for the needs and concerns in our lives, we are loosing things in Heaven and using the power that God has placed inside of us.
When someone is sick, we must pray, when someone is in need of a financial blessing, we must pray, when someone is not saved, we must pray. Pray changes things and in some cases can change things over night.
We must believe and seek our Father in Heaven in prayer. It will build your faith in God and God will know you are serious about Him. When we seek God in prayer we are telling God that we believe in Him and that we have to have Him in the things we are praying for and I know He will hear us and answer us.
I have seen people prayed for and healed of cancer, healed from addiction, healed from depression, etc.
God will move when you seek Him in prayer. He will hear you and answer you.
Don't get me wrong I have a long way to go when it comes to prayer but as I seek God more in prayer, it moves me closer to Him and I contact God when I have an issue and not man.
Calling your pastor or a close Christian friend is fine but if you want an answer and deliverance from your issue, pray to God. God can answer it, man cannot.
God is giving us an opportunity all day and all night every day to seek Him in prayer and allows us to be heard before His throne.
I pray today that you will seek God more in prayer and watch God work. His Word tells us that what you ask of Him it will be given. He is a worthy God and is greatly to be praised.
When you pray, you dont have to sound like you are holy and a scholar. Be real with God when you pray and let Him know you are broken and laying at His feet and you are seeking Him as His creation.

Today is the work  day everyone seems to dread and it takes 3 cups of coffee to get you going.
I want to just encourage you today as we start this work week off to a good start. Be thankful for being able to get up today and get to work. Be thankful that we have a job to go to. Be thankful that we have transportation to get to work. Be thankful that even though you had to sit in traffic, that you made it to work safely. Be thankful that God made you different than anyone else in the world. Be thankful that God sent His very son Jesus to die on a cross, took a beating, had thorns placed on His head for us. Be thankful that Jesus was raised from the dead and now sits beside His father in heaven. Be thankful that Jesus will be coming back for us very soon to take us to heaven for eternity to rein with Him. Be thankful that you are saved. If you are not saved be thankful God allowed you to live another day so you can be saved. Thank God that we have another day to witness and talk to those about Jesus and tell them about the opportunity they have to be in heaven with Him and it is for everyone.
I thank God for all of you and the encouragement that you offer each other. I pray for your families and friends.
We must pray for the lost and the fallen away. God desires us all to be saved.

Giving is a topic that I feel we try to avoid at times in our lives or we completely avoid it all together. We think of giving ten percent to the church as a burden or we think that the church has enough why do we need to fatten the checkbook. In some cases this may be true but in the experience I have seen with Giving to the church, that many could not keep the doors open if we did not give. It is up to us as believers to make sure God's House stays open and debt free. God says in the bible that He wants us to bring our tithe and offering into the storehouse. Giving is just not an old testament principle. He says to give.
I have never been so blessed than when I give and give. I have seen miracles. I have given an amount of money and have watched it beat me home and a check be sitting in the mailbox that evening.
We cannot out give God but He wants to see us be faithful and do this very thing.
When we give of our finances, time, etc. we are showing God that we trust Him and believe His word.
God says we are not to owe anyone but love everyone. This is a very simple statement but we miss it by a land slide.
If we learned to give to those in need and follow what the Holy Spirit tells us we need to do, we will be so blessed and others will be so blessed.
Give your tithes and go beyond that and give offerings and be blessed.

I had a completely different word this morning but God spoke to my heart and told me to speak to those that are hurting today. He said there are people out there that are struggling, thinking suicide, doing without, marriage on the rocks, etc.
God said come to Him and He will give you rest. This is such a comforting statement but you cannot get the rest unless you come to Him. He will give you peace and He will work out your situation. We must trust in the Lord and know that He is capable of doing it all. He is the creator of the universe, He can do anything.
We have to get to a point in our lives where we stop being satisfied with defeat, trouble, heart ache. When we come into the rest of God, we get strength. We are conquerers through our Father in Heaven.
I pray for all of you that have trouble today because we all have. I know the struggles and the stress that comes along with those issues but God will deliver you from these issues, all you have to do is trust Him.
Don't believe the lie of the enemy, he wants to destroy your life and make you live it in torment. Life is good and God wants to give it to you more abundantly. Trust in Jesus Christ today and give your life to Him fully and you will find rest and peace.<< MORE >>

Did you know that the Bible plainly tells us that the words we speak have life and death in them?
My grandmother was a very wise woman and a great woman after the heart of God. She use to say "plain talk is easy understood" and this is so true. We will let any words through the week fly out of our mouths and then go to church and try to bless others. It will not work. Joyce Meyers said in a teaching "Believing God" that we need to get our mouths saved. We need to make sure what is coming out of our bodies (words) are godly and blessing us and others. The term "this is killing me" or "this is worrying me to death", you are setting yourself up for disaster.
We will all have struggles but when you state that the issue is doing something to you from your mouth, the next thing you know it is happening. We can speak good or bad into our lives and it is so important we keep a filter on our lips.
Now this is for sure not an easy task but just like taking care of our bodies, if we pray for grace and mercy from God to help us with this, it will be given to us.
If we are to live victorious and blessed, we have to watch the words we are speaking. The devil hears our words as much as God does, so be careful.
God did not save us to be losers, stupid, ridiculous, no worth, crazy (these are just some of the words i have heard people say about themselves).
We have to tame our tongues to speak good things about our lives and those around us.
Once we get to the point of saying positive things and giving ourselves value, you will see a huge difference and you will be blessed and God will be able to work in your life at a much greater level.

I have to first and foremost thank God this morning for another year of life. I turned 31 today and I am so thankful that God has kept me healthy and allowing me to grow older and continue to do His will here on earth.
It seems like birthdays are either blessings or depressions to people today. I am not quite sure why someone would be depressed about getting older because we all are. God has given us that extra year of life and we should praise Him for it.
Along with getting older we get a sense of urgency to get in shape or cut down on the bad things we are eating or drinking. I use to drink enough Pepsi that I should have had stock in the company. Just recently I stopped drinking soda and eating so many sweets and as each week goes on, I am feeling so much better. I wake up ready to go in the mornings and not dragging like I was before. I know sugars and times that are placed in these great tasting snacks are not healthy but they are so good. However I prayed that God would give me the grace to cut it out of my life.
We are in the middle of spring and the first thought that comes to mind is spring cleaning. I guess I am spring cleaning my body and getting it in shape to grow older and to stay healthier.
My prayer today for everyone is that we inventory our physical bodies and monitor what we are putting into it. We are carrying the very vessel of God within us and we need to take care of it and glorify God with it.
This is a very hard task but when you sacrifice these things, God will bless you for it.

Yesterday I was speaking to my pastor and we were discussing walking in the spirit and God spoke so plain to my heart about this very subject. I have asked myself so many times " how do i walk in the spirit". As you know I like to put things very simple and plain so that these words can be easy to understand.
If you are not walking in the spirit, you are walking in the flesh. This is a very simple process. When we are walking in the spirit we are not subjected to the things of this world, we listen to the holy spirit and follow the right path. The second you see yourself doing the things of this world, you have went away from walking with the spirit. Here is an example. You have a busy job and you have 4 people come in at the same time and start telling you they need your assistance and you start to feel frustration rise up in your flesh and this is a decision you will have to make; will you walk by the flesh and get frustrated and tell everyone to get out of your office or accidentally upset someone or do you walk by the spirit and push the frustration down and be bold and get the issues and write them down and prioritize them and work out a resolution and take care of business. This is the difference in walking in the spirit and flesh.
Every decision we make will tell your life whether you are walking in the spirit or the flesh.
Now will you just automatically do this, some might be able too but i know even for myself it takes disciple and commitment to God to walk by the spirit. We first need to start in prayer and pray that God will keep His mighty hand upon us and allow extra grace to walk in the spirit. As soon as you start to walk in the spirit, you will be attacked by the very weaknesses you have had in life. We must be over comers of the evil things of this world.
My prayer today is we start to examine our lives and start to walk in love, giving, gentleness, meekness, the spirit. I pray that all of you will trust God to do this .<< MORE >>

I hope everyone had a great weekend and you are now prepared for the work week. I want to remind everyone to do the prayer journal listed under the category tools. This will strengthen your prayer life because it gets you in a habit of looking at it, adding to it daily.
I want this site to be useful and truthful to you as a reader. I want you to know that the person commenting on this site daily is a human being and I have made as many if not more mistakes as you have but I thank God that He had mercy and grace upon me to bring me back into His will. It is never too late to come back to God. You can come back to God in any shape that you may be in. He loves us all and wants us to live for Him. This Life with God is not a hard life, He actually states in the bible that His burden is light and I love the sound of that.
This means that you cannot live as the world does but I have been there and done that and it's only fun for a while. There is so much peace and rest with God, there is no condemnation and that is so wonderful, to know that when we come to the Lord that we will have rest and our sins are as white as snow.
If you were to die today, would you go to heaven? If you were to die today, would you go to hell? I hope and pray with all that is in me that you can honestly say that you would go to heaven. There are only two choices and that is it. I pray that if you cannot answer the question that you examine your heart and talk to God and ask Him to save you through the blood of Jesus Christ.

I hope everyone had an opportunity to go and worship God at the church of your choice. I pray that we all are being taught the absolute truth about Jesus Christ. If the holy spirit is leading you in a different direction, pray hard and follow the will of God.
We must go to church and praise and worship God. It is so important for us to be with others in the body of Christ. I know I have heard many times "you dont have to go to church to be saved" this is very true but when God places His true will in your life, you will have a desire to want to be around others in Christ.
I know that a lot of people have been done wrong in the church and have had battles and let downs in the church, but it is spiritual warfare from the devil to keep us all from coming together.
I pray that we will all pray about coming together with the saints and helping one another and getting a revelation of the true Love of God.
God wants to see us get to a point in our lives when we are not judging, and we are loving each other like God wants us to love.
Matthew chapter 6 gives a great example of these principles.

My six year old son had his last in door soccer game of the year this morning, a methodist church in my home town hosts this for the younger children every year and it is wonderful. Before each game the leader of the event prays with the children and they start the game. As this season has went on, i have seen men and women take time out of their busy lives to work with these children. At half time the children assemble in front of the leader of the event and he tells them a bible story in a way that each of them can understand. At the end of the game all children are asked to line up and give each other on both teams a high five for a good game.
The children always get a trophy at the end of the season and called out and recognized.
I first and foremost thank God for a group of people to come together and put this event together each year, second i thank the parents for allowing their lives to not be so hectic and allowing their children to attend.
My child talks about this day and night the whole season.
My point to this whole story is that we have to be involved in our children's lives. if we are not, then someone else will be. we must give our children as good of a life as we can and always be rooting them on in anything they do.
I was raised by my grandparents and it was hard for them to get out and take me to ball games and other events and i know how important that was to me as a young boy. I want to make sure my child gets the opportunities that i wasn't able to get.
If we pay attention to our children and make an effort to take them to church, games, the park to play, camping, etc., they are going to remember those moments for the rest of their lives.
I have made many mistakes in life and i want to have such a relationship with my child, that i can sit down and tell him man to man what to avoid in life and what to go for as fast as he can.
All it takes is an effort with your children to allow them to be successful in everything they do.
God feels the same about us, when we are going for that promotion or going to buy your first home, etc. He is rooting for you, he wants to see His children well off and walking the way they should be in life. God has so many goals and dreams for us and if we do not acknowledge Him, we will never see them come to pass.
My prayer today is that we will take the time to spend with our Father in Heaven and just talk, tell Him how life is treating you and what good things are going on in your life and even tell Him your struggles. I promise He will listen.

This morning I sat down to check messages on myspace and thought i would add some new friends to help spread the word of this site and as i looked for familiar faces, i just read some of the profiles of some of the users and i was amazed at what myspace is being used for besides networking and finding old friends. This site is used for dating, hooking up, one night stands, you name it, it is being done there. I knew that things like that were going on but as i clicked on several of them it was one right after another, looking for a good time, looking for sex and no commitment. I know that the devil trying to use anything he can to take people down the wrong path.
As I said yesterday, he makes it look fun and gets you hooked and takes you out of the will of God.
Sex is no longer something sacred, it is a cheap, good time and that is it. It makes my heart so sad to see people throw their lives away over a moment. I know i have been speaking on the lost and the fallen away a lot lately but my heart is torn apart for these people. I want them to know that God has more for their lives than the things they are doing. This world has people fooled in thinking it is always about right now, do what feels good, party, do what you want too.
God has such a plan for our lives and many are ignoring it or have not even acknowledged God at all.
Our country and this world is operating worse that Sodom in the bible with their wickedness. It is very scary because our God is a very jealous God and when He has had enough of this foolishness, that is it.
Our God in Heaven loves us and He wants us to live a life full of peace and victory. If we would just trust in Him, our lives would never be the same.
Please pray today for those that are lost and fallen away, God loves them as much as He loves those that live for Him. We need these people in the body of Christ.

I woke up this morning with an urgency concerning people falling away from God and that the enemy is seeking to cause everyone to fall away from God.
I also know this can happen quickly without warning, you can be tempted in a second and be caught off guard and fall deeply into the temptation and fall away from God.
I pray today that we will be on guard, that we will watch all sides for the enemy and pray, pray without stopping.
We are in a spiritual war that never sleeps or stops. We need to trust God and seek Him every second of the day and live in the peace and love He is giving us.
We must fight this good fight of faith and hold on. Do not let the enemy lie to you and tell you that worldly things are better and that you will have more fun.
The devil is a lier today and always will be, he is trying to devourer everyone of us. The good news today is he is defeated through the blood of Jesus and the devil will be thrown into the pit of destruction and he knows that, so he will try to take as many with him as he can.
We need to be on guard at all times and not allow this world to trick us into its ways.
Be strong and love one another, help each other, live to serve.
I pray that the mighty hand of God be upon each of you this day.

Are you content with what you have? Do you have a desire to want more and more? Are you finding with that desire that it is causing extreme debt and stress in your life?
These questions were questions i had to ask myself a several years ago. I had a new home, 3 cars, top of the line stuff. That was what it was, was stuff. It was causing a huge burden in my life. It was not that I needed it, it was that i could just get it. During this period in my life I became very ill and could not work for nearly 4 months and it caused all the stuff i had to become bills that i could not pay for and that caused a huge burden in my life.
So having a medical issue to take care of, I had to devise a plan to take care of my debt.
My wife and I sat down and prayed and asked God to help us and He said very plainly "go sell what you have".
This hit me hard, I liked my stuff and did not want to give it up but we did it. We went through all of our bills and started with the big stuff and sold the cars, then we even went with out TV for several months. We cut our cell phone bill down to a bare minimum.We had yard sales and sold a lot of things. We were getting rid of debt and doing it quickly. In a month we had 50% less bills and our heads were coming above water. This was a land mark for developing a stronger faith in God. He just did not heal my finances but He healed my body during that time period as well.
God will sometimes use a situation to mold us and shape us to be closer to the image He created us to be.
So today if you are struggling with debt and it is causing stress on your marriage and with your children, get the entire family involved and get rid of the stuff. This will free up so many resources and it will strengthen your family and move you closer with God.
Pray that God will reveal to you what to do and give you a firm plan of action.
I pray that all of us will seek financial freedom, I am not quite there but pressing forward daily. A great resource is http://www.crown.org . My wife and I have been following the plan for about a year now and it is wonderful.

I was praying last night and the Lord spoke to my heart the following scripture:
Matthew 6:24 : No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

I think sometimes we have sympathy for the devil. I know when I was lost that I listened to a song by the Rolling Stones "sympathy for the devil" and I started believing that. The devil had given me a lie that he was pitiful that he did not deserve what he got from God and that he was just misunderstood. That is the biggest lie i have ever heard. Satan has known what he has been doing his entire existence. He is a lier, he only wants to confuse you, destroy you, make you do things that are wrong, he wants you to forget God and die.

So I have to say today that I would like to kick him between the teeth. He has tried to destroy my family, kill me, make me curse God and die. He is a lier and deserves to be pitched into hell where he belongs. It is time that we start talking back to the devil and take back what he has stolen from us. I have heard some people talk like the devil has a possibility to be saved. That is ridiculous, he is the enemy of this world, he is out to kill each and everyone of you and has no thought of living for God.
We need to wake up and realize we have a real enemy but he is already defeated because of what Jesus Christ did on that cross. We need to tell others about the love of God and how the devil will cause you to think that sin is great. It will send you to a tormented hell if you do not ask Jesus into your heart.

I know this is a harsh message but it is scripture and truth and sometimes the truth makes us all uncomfortable. I want each of you to live a life of peace and truth with God. If you are not following God you are against Him like satan.
Trust in God and have life everlasting, Jesus wants to give you life more abundantly.
